Nightmare Revisited is a cover anthology of songs and score from the 1993 Disney animated picture show The Nightmare Before Christmas. It was released on September 30, 2008 by Walt Disney Records to commemorate the film's 15th anniversary of its theatrical release. In addition to the album's xviii covers are two re-recordings by original composer Danny Elfman, of the "Opening" and "Closing" tracks. One vocal featured on the album, Marilyn Manson's "This Is Halloween", was previously released well-nigh ii years earlier, on the 2006 reissue of the motion picture'southward original soundtrack which, featuring 5 covers of songs from the film, acted as a precursor to Nightmare Revisited. The album as well features Korn covering "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" which is also their first recording to feature Ray Luzier on drums. Enhanced content on the disc features the trailer of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
American psychobilly band Tiger Army also provided a cover of "Oogie Boogie's Song", which was not featured on physical CD editions of Nightmare Revisited, simply was released as a digital bonus rail. Scott Murphy's cover of "Sally's Vocal" is too featured on Japanese pressings of the album.

On September 27, 2008, 3 days earlier the release of Nightmare Revisited, the album was made available for streaming exclusively by Spin.com.[two]
On September 22, 2008, Evanescence singer Amy Lee, who contributed a comprehend of "Sally'due south Vocal" for the anthology, appear that she would be performing her embrace on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on October thirteen, 2008.[3] Marilyn Manson similarly performed his cover of "This Is Halloween" (from the reissue of The Nightmare Before Christmas: Original Pic Soundtrack) on The This night Show on Halloween 2 years earlier (Oct 31, 2006).[4]
